Remembering 911 Through Firehouse Traditions | Las Vegas News

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Station 5 gathered in solemn tribute to mark 25 years since 9/11, honoring the 343 firefighters who perished in New York City—and the countless others lost to illness. With bells tolled in tradition, a World Trade Center flag lowered to half-staff, and a survivor tree seedling standing as living memory, the station became a beacon of remembrance. Even decades later, grief remains raw, echoing through every bell, every name, every family story—like that of a young student whose grandfather stood near the towers. This annual gathering isn’t just ceremony; it’s a sacred space where pain endures, and sacrifice is never forgotten.
