REMEMBERING ACE FREHLEY

from The Hard Volume Experience

THE HARD VOLUME EXPERIENCE PODCAST SHOW NOTES: REMEMBERING ACE FREHLEY Welcome back to the experience, sonic allies. We’re mourning the loss of astronomical guitarist and the epitome of guitar hero inspiration, the one and only Ace Frehley. Our community lost Ace on October 16, 2025 – he was 74. Ace was the original lead guitarist and “Spaceman” of KISS, known for his signature solos and contributions to the band’s classic albums. After a successful 1978 solo record, he left KISS in 1982 and launched Frehley’s Comet. He came back to KISS for their 1996 reunion before departing again. Afterwards, he maintained a steady solo career with multiple albums that showcased his timeless hard-rock style with the final album being, “10,000 Volts” – a title no doubt inspired by his near-death on-stage incident in 1976 when he was electrocuted from touching a metal railing that wasn’t properly grounded. He was knocked out but returned to finish that show. We feel a little knocked out too after a string of deaths in the rock community this year, but we’re always down to celebrate music, community, and performers like Ace – a guy that captivated generations of fans. Have a great time listening and TURN IT UP! – Joe & Chuck ⩶⩶⩶⩶⩶⩶⩶ SONGS IN THIS EPISODE: Ace Frehley – Rip It Out / KISS Ace Frehley Ace Frehley – Fractured Mirror / KISS: Ace Frehley KISS – Let Me Go Rock ’n’ Roll / Alive!
