Today we honor Hieromartyr Kirion II, born George Sadzaglishvili in 1855 in Georgia. He devoted his life to the Georgian Church through education, scholarship, and leadership during difficult times.Kirion II was a tireless defender of the Georgian Church’s autocephaly and worked to restore its ancient heritage. He was tragically murdered in 1918, and later canonized as a holy hieromartyr.Support the show
