Remembering Hiroshima, 78 Years On

August 6, 2023 was the 78th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing. We mark the seminal, tragic moment in history by speaking with Aaron Denison, a doctoral candidate at Hiroshima University, who specialises in Malaysian and Japanese politics with a special interest in Malaysian victims of the bombing. He speaks to us about how Japan commemorates this event and how the country's history impacts conversations around nuclear disarmament.
