Remembering Kobe & The Philly Sports Scene Mood (PST Show #347)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

It's that time of year when we can sit back and reflect on the mood within the Philly sports fan base - the positive, the negative, the in-between feelings. The Sixers are trying to rise up the Eastern Conference ranks. The Flyers are a playoff bubble team. The Eagles offseason has begun with tons of question marks. The Phillies season is almost upon us. This week, we discuss the conflicting ups and downs we're feeling about the four major Philly sports teams here in early 2020.But first, we decided to move our Highbrow Segment to the top of the show as we reflected upon the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant and what he meant to the game of professional basketball. (approx. 5:50)From there, we discussed how the Eagles are taking their time hiring their next offensive coordinator. (approx. 26:00)Then we dove into some Sixers talk as the trade deadline is approaching. Is it possible for them to acquire the talent they need to content this year? (approx. 31:45)We also talked about the impending Phillies season as pitchers and catchers report in less than two weeks. What will happen with the No. 5 spot in the rotation? (approx. 40:35)This week on the Lowbrow Segment, we pulled out "Cohost Questions" for everyone. Such a fun segment of the show! (approx. 49:20)What we're throwing down on the Table, is a discussion about the mood within the Philly sports fan base at the moment. What are the hopes we have, and what are the realities that the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers face? We'd love to know how you're feeling at this moment about any or all of our Philly sports teams. Email us at [email protected] to let us know. We'll read your email on the show and respond.
