Remembering New Martyr Habakkuk of Thessaloniki
from Saints and Scripture · host Saints and Scripture
Today we remember New Martyr Habakkuk, who bore witness to Christ in Thessaloniki in the early 17th century. Though details of his life and martyrdom are scarce, his memory has been preserved through manuscripts and relics. Habakkuk is believed to have been a monk, possibly from Mount Athos, and his relics are kept in the monastery of Nativity in Akarnania. His steadfast faith continues to inspire Orthodox Christians today.Support the show
