Remembering Venerable Athanasius of Serpukhov

Today we honor Venerable Athanasius of Serpukhov, a devoted monk and disciple of Saint Sergius of Radonezh. Born Andrew, he embraced monastic life early, dedicating himself to prayer, copying holy books, and the spiritual formation of others. Athanasius founded the Vysotsk monastery near Serpukhov and later spent many years in Constantinople translating and copying sacred texts. His life was marked by deep faith, learning, and service to the Church through the beauty of liturgical art and literature.Support the show
