The journey has been arduous, albeit interesting; the stuff that epitomizes the Nigerian spirit of grass to grace, and depicts the can-do attitude of Nigerians who struggle daily to succeed in their chosen careers despite the odds. It is a story that resonates. It is equally a story that celebrates the life and the joy that success brings. This is the BABA HAFUSA story. In Baba Hafusa, Reminisce tells this story with rhythmic beats, deep-reaching lyrics, and popular street slangs that help to drive his point home to an audience comprising of commercial bus workers, new age advert executives, and diaspora music fanatics. The Baba Hafusa Album project has already broken barriers and charted unknown territories. Just recently, Reminisce became the only hip hop artist in all of Africa to have an album debut on Billboard World Music Chart at no. 12. With over 800,000 copies IN 34 WEEKS sold in Nigeria., and claiming the number one spot on the iTunes World Albums category for one week straight– The Baba Hafusa album is already arguably one of the most successful hip hop albums in Nigerian history. Already described as a “genre busting album”, it is a strong contender for album of the year with music critics and fans alike applauding the fusion of sounds to form a unique blend of Hip Hop, Fuji and Afrobeats.
