60年前的某一天晌午，一个乡村的围龙屋里，驼背的刁婆婆一颤一颠……刁婆婆终于来到大儿子的家门口，老手攀着门框，小脚迈过门槛，屁股跌在门槛上。待缓过气来，刁婆婆睁亮独眼，使劲儿朝里头瞅，只觉大锅里热气腾腾，便仰头弱弱地说：“儿呀，给娘盛一碗，娘饿……”“给你盛一碗？我的儿子还没喝饱吃大呢，你到老幺家去吧，他的儿子少！”
