Rend Collective's Chris Llewellyn: Writing worship songs on doubt and deconstruction

It's a bold move, and one the lead singer of Rend Collective knows will be controversial in some circles. Nevertheless, the songwriter of some of the Church's most well known worship songs, including 'Build Your Kingdom Here' and 'My Lighthouse' is releasing a record which touches on themes of doubt, mystery and even abuse in the church. In this in depth interview Chris Llewellyn explains he's not leaving the much-loved joy-centred collective, but wanted to explore other themes which are rarely touched on within Christian music. The result is Honest, an 11 track record which sees Llewellyn experiment with new musical styles and deliver challenging and thought provoking lyrics.
