from ThinkTech Hawaii · host Jay Fidell
Energy Supports Community Lifelines. The host for this show is Mitch Ewan. The guest is Ken Aramaki. The discussion introduces the Hawaiian Electric Community Oahu Renewable Energy Zones planning process and its Community Engagement Plan for Oahu; what it is, and why it is needed to meet the State’s energy goals. Hawaii Electric will soon be engaging with communities on this important process and wants communities to help shape the Company’s renewable plans. Renewable Energy Zones or REZs are areas with high wind or solar potential. An initial study was conducted to determine requirements to enable most of the zones. Community input is needed to iterate the process through a series of workshops in local communities.
