Renewed concern over safety of North West retail workers

There's renewed concern over some retail employees in the North West are still being subjected to harassment and abuse. It comes as the Protection of Retail Workers Act 2025 going through the houses of the Oireachtas will acknowledge the dangers they encounter and guarantee that those who endanger or injure retail employees be held responsible.The action was taken in response to what's been described as a worrying increase in retail crime across the country.Fine Gael Cllr Dara Mulvey says not to have legal safeguards for these workers is intolerable:
