Renoir Paintings Stolen From French Riviera Museum | US News

Four Renoir masterpieces vanished in a brazen early-morning heist at the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer, with thieves cutting through a fence and triggering alarms before fleeing—abandoning two paintings in the garden while two others disappeared. Among the stolen works: “Portrait of Madame Colonna Romano” and “Young Woman at the Well.” Authorities are on high alert, launching a manhunt as the mayor demands nationwide museum security upgrades. The museum, housed in Renoir’s last home, remains closed while investigators work to recover the priceless artworks.
