The Republican Party attacks this with a devil’s three-pronged pitchfork: calls to wait and see; claims that the Democratic Party is trying to steal your guns and take away your rights; and assertions that gun laws don’t do anything to stop gun violence—which we know because we’ve never had any, and it’s going so great without them. There’s a fourth prong, but it is more of the general blood money mantra of the conservative death cult: We need more guns.
