Repentance and Renunciation/Dr Pat Holliday/Dr Sabrina Sessions/Marshall Perot
from Miracle Internet Church Radio · host Miracle Internet Church
Repentance and Renunciation Repentance and renunciation of all the occult, New Age, cult experiences, and also all known sin: The key to true deliverance is repentance. This means to change one’s mind with regard too past or intended actions of personal conduct. One must feel regret and determine in the heart to be dissatisfied with one’s past. Sin must always be recognized, confessed and forsaken. There can be no full deliverance where a person’s sin is a major factor, unless there is a frank recognition of it and willingness with the help of God’s grace to give it up. “For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of but the sorrow of the world worketh death,” (II Tim. 7:10). Eerdmans Bible Dictionary,"Repentance" may mean only over a past thought or action, but it is a term for a complete change of orientation involving a judgment upon the past and a deliberate redirection for the future. O T concept of repentance appears as both ritual action meant to demonstrate repentance, and the prophetic call for repentance. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call,” (Acts 2:38-39). "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them-- do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." -Gospel of Luke 13:2-5
