[REPLAY] S4#26 🇺🇸🇬🇧 “A la carte, homes in Paris”

from Com d'Archi

In this Com d’Archi, discover ‘à la carte’ housing, a concept developed by PETITDIDIERPRIOUX Architectes (PPX) for its Philippe de Girard project, in Paris. A text written by PETITDIDIERPRIOUX Architectes and read by Esther.Cédric Petitdidier and Vincent Prioux created PETITDIDIERPRIOUX Architects (PPX) in 2004. They won their first competition at the age of just twenty-four, on the theme "How will you live tomorrow?". Some thirty projects later, PPX has received international recognition through numerous awards, the most recent of which being the Architizer A+AWARDS, 'Best Residential Firm' 2022. The agency has developed its own expertise in the field of housing, relying on a 'convivial density' to make individual and collective housing cohabit, including high-rise buildings. Their questioning revolves around: how to live together without sacrificing the intimacy of a home? What makes a home? For the housing project on rue Philippe de Girard, PPX proposed an innovative approach to give the inhabitants a great deal of freedom in the configuration of their homes. The floors are open-plan thanks to a central core for fluids connection and a structural facade with double-skin allowing maximum luminosity. The inhabitants could then personnalise their homes, choosing how to divide the floors according to their needs. The architect wasn’t a simple designer but an "assembler of possibilities", with more than one thousand configurations of plans drawn.Image teaser DR © PixelenlargementSound engineering : Julien Rebours___If you like the podcast do not hesitate:. to subscribe so you don't miss the next episodes,. to leave us stars and a comment :-),. to follow us on Instagram @comdarchipodcast to find beautiful images, always chosen with care, so as to enrich your view on the subject.Nice week to all of you !
