This time I’m joined by Orma from #ポケ沼, and we dove into the film You’re Next (released in Japan as Surprise). So… is this really a horror movie? Well, that’s the fun of it. We’re talking about genre-shift films—movies that pull the rug out from under you. It’s definitely entertaining, but is it fair play? We kept it pretty light, but the conversation ended up circling around that bigger question: how much “bait-and-switch” is acceptable in storytelling? Art is free, sure—but at the end of the day, it’s the audience that passes judgment. That balance point between surprise and betrayal is where a creator’s personality shines through.
