Repose of Venerable John, Abbot of Rila

Today we remember Venerable John, the Abbot of Rila, a great ascetic and spiritual protector of the Bulgarian people. Born in 876, he lived a life of prayer, fasting, and solitude in the wilderness, becoming known for his holiness and miracles. Saint John spent many years in the wilderness, enduring hardships and temptations, and later guiding monks and healing the sick through prayer. His relics have been honored and moved with great reverence, continuing to inspire the faithful to this day.Support the show
