RERUN | Bridget Regan: The Gift of Our Craft

from That One Audition with Alyshia Ochse · host Alyshia Ochse

For today's episode, we're sitting down with Bridget Regan, from Jane the Virgin, Agent Carter, The Last Ship, and the upcoming Paramount Network show, Paradise Lost, where she got to work with iconic artists like Barbara Hershey and Nick Nolte. She shares how she got her start doing community theatre while growing up just outside of San Diego, and how her experiences there lead her to a career performing on Broadway and in countless hit TV shows. We chat about some of her hilarious audition stories, what it was like working in the theatre and then transitioning to film, and how she's always managed to trust her artistic instincts—even when they lead her against the advice of her team. We get into some great listener questions, where she offers her practical advice for the process, but as she shares, her "only real ritual is preparation." It is this kind of investment in her craft that has led her to opportunities where she's shot for 48 hours straight between TWO major TV shows. This deep desire to create connected work is why she's never stopped working. Her credits also include roles in John Wick, Grey's Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, and White Collar.
