Researchers are hopeful they are on the cusp of an obesity treatment that might represent a new way to lose weight. Unlike drugs such as Wegovy and Mounjaro, which suppress appetite and can result in the loss of muscle mass, this new treatment would target the body's fat-storage proceses and leave the appetite untouched. Professor Peter Shepherd, from the University of Auckland, spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
