If you manage to one eye of all the minute to a minute. You'll never leave with everything. I do say. I'm doing so much.

I'm falling off. Coming hot. Welcome to wait. We don't have an intro.

Remember last time I had that insufferable. Yeah, you were like, I've seen people wouldn't believe it. And I'd be like, hold on. Let me pull up the list of things I've seen that you've already.

Yeah. Wait a second. You wouldn't believe that I can't remember the things that I've seen. I've seen that.

Yeah. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. I wish I was seeing a list. I've seen things you put you people wouldn't believe that I've forgotten the title of.

I've seen more things than I've forgotten more things than I've seen. That's one. There he is. Shout out.

Shout out to the bottom. I'd much rather listen to that song than that song you just played. Yeah. That's like that's like a that's like a promo video for like a nobody MMA fighter.

Yes. That he put up himself on YouTube. Listen, we're like, it's not a promo video. It's like an uninterrupted like sparring match.

And it's like eight minutes long. And it's that just sucks. Yeah. Sucks so bad.

He's bad. The UFC fighter is bad. You sure as you sip your monster and you drink Dan. I figured what better drink for this episode.

Big tall boy. That's right. That's right. And Rob, I can't help it.

It's the branding is just so fucking funny. It is funny. It's like it's water, but they're acting like it's something way crazier. They are acting like it's way crazier.

To the point, a few years ago, I bartended at the C here now festival, right? There was like every, I forget what they call them, like activations or something. It's some stupid marketing term, but it's like every sort of beer slash like liquor has its own tent kind of set up. And I was working the red stripe tent.

So it was handing out red stripes all day, but also we had liquid death. And every single person that they were like, they came up wanting a beer and then they were like, wait, what's this liquid death thing? And I'm like, it's water. And they're like, is there any alcohol in it?

I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, just water. Like, is it like an energy drink? No, no, simply just water. It's the can of water.

And I'm like, we don't get it. And I'm like, I don't get it either. It's just water. You're you're you're.

It's well. Yeah, don't worry. It's really it's only $10. Sears, the thing I would never drink these except there's a store called grocery outlet here, which I probably even talked about before.

I wish I had a can of grocery outlet because I'd rather be of course holding that up to the camera. Yeah, promoting it. But they sell it for like an insane for a song for a song. And you know what the worst part is?

I was talking to somebody about this too. It's actually a wonderful product. It's like good seltzer. Yeah, it is good.

So you're right. Good bubble density, good bubble size. Good bite at the end of the night when I was working there, I was able to snag a couple cases of liquid death that would have run the average person. I don't know.

$50. Yeah, $50 now. And then forget it. Once the water wars start, that's just going to be worth $5,000.

But but yeah, liquid death sort of the it's how juggle is they hydrated, right? No, no, this is like, I mean, this is marketed toward like sober, oh, it is market. It's aging metal guys. Yes.

You know, I'm in punks who've gotten their shit together. Guys with like slicked back hair who wear like a fitted polo. Yeah. And they have tattoos and they're looking down their arms.

Sure. That type of guy. Anyway, welcome to play me. Well, welcome.

Well, go to play me. I guess we're calling a king me production. A king me production where we are going through the long sordid history. Cinematog, it's not cinematography.

Filmography, filmography of film. Make the cinemas, the Mise en Sen. I can't do it. I can't when I'm watching movies, I'm always looking for that.

Mise en Sen. And I always often see I'm like, there it is shaking your wife. It's being like, God damn it. Look at the Mise en Sen.

How was the Mise en Sen? How was it? And we will be talking a lot about shot composition. I'm thinking this one.

I think so too. We're on week four, level four. We are on level four. Yeah.

Level four. Last, last week, what was it? Last week we watched Final Fantasy. How soon you forget that piece of shit?

This is the Spirits Without. These are just husks. They're zombies. They are zombies.

Is this our first zombie movie since Cell, whatever that Stephen King movie is about cell phones? Yeah, the cell phone zombie movie. We definitely have not done any of the George Romero movies. We haven't done any like the 28 days.

We haven't been late to anything. We haven't done Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, right? No. Have we done Scooby-Doo return to Zombie Island?

No. That's weird. I could have sworn. Are those live action?

No, they're not. Okay. But they're good. I've only seen the first one.

But that's the one that one's notable because the monsters are real. Yeah. Oh, whoa. Take it.

That doesn't usually happen. Yeah, you should have gotten a mask. Yeah, they're like, haha, I on Maskey when his face just comes off. Oh, shit.

That's got to freak out everyone of them. Yeah, Fred kills himself. He's like, I need a puddle. I need a puddle.

Everyone's like, why do you need a puddle? He drowns himself. He's crazy, dude. I've never seen Fred do that.

I've never seen Fred do that. I don't think we've done any of these. Are you a, I mean, we're going to get into this zombie movie. This is like a very specific flavor of Zombie.

But what kind of... Sort of 28 days flavor. Well, it's... Actually, no, there's some zombies in this.

Yeah, they're slow. But the sort of... Well, the ending is the beginning of 28 days later. Sure.

28 days later though came out after this. It did. I thought I came out before this. No, came out in...

Oh, is that 04 and this is 02? This is 02 and that is 03. Damn. So they kind of cribbed that on this.

Here's the best. Here's kind of the thing with zombies is that there's only... It's hard to do because it's like so sort of repetitive, you know? It really is like, okay, the monsters are not necessarily interesting.

They are just undead. And there's usually a lot of them. That's the scary part. 28 days later made it kind of fun with like, oh, now they're fucking fast as hell.

It sucks. You got like no shot. You thought you had no shot before? No, you got nothing.

The Resident Evil movie, or I mean the games initially and then the movies are kind of fun because they take like, well, what if there was zombie dogs or like they call them the liquors? The liquors. Or it doesn't show up in this movie, but like there's like a big guy. Yeah, Nemesis.

Well, that guy who gets scratched I believe becomes Nemesis in the next movie. You are correct. Nemesis. Right?

Because you hear someone in one of the hazmat suits say I want him in the Nemesis project. Oh, I want him to be my Nemesis. What'd you say? I couldn't make out what you're saying.

I like that I'll repute in the Wii Nemesis. And that's what I named this project after is the Nemesis program. Are you a peephead too? Anyway, let me turn that filter off.

Okay. But zombie movies like... Sorry. Anyway, you were saying no, just zombie movies in general are it's hard to do.

I think I think that's a hard genre to do. You're a big zombie head yourself. Hey, some people call me Rob Zombie. Oh my God.

No, I used to really I was more into like kind of honestly before the Walking Dead, not specifically because of the Walking Dead, but like when the Walking Dead came out, like the TV show, it had reached this saturation point that I kind of lost interest in. Sure. The Walking Dead comes out. That's the era of like pride and prejudice and zombies.

Yes. People with bumper stickers that are like zombie hunting license. Yes. Kind of stuff.

It all became too much people. Yeah, right. And like, well, people online being like in case of a zombie apocalypse here's the thing is that you should have, you know, like a zombie. Yeah, but let's take it really seriously.

It's like there's probably like a Mythbusters segment about it. What's in it? Max Brooks made that right that zombie survival guide or whatever the fuck? I don't know about all that.

Come on. Max Brooks, well, he made what was the zombie movie with... He did make the zombie survival guide. That is him.

He also made World War Z, which is... Not even a number. Not even a number. We're going straight from two to Z.

World War Z? What? Oh, yeah. They'd have to change the name in England.

No, whatever. I'm a big fan of the Romero movies. I like Return to Living Dead, right? That's an 80s sort of classic zombie slash also punk movie.

You like the cranberry song? Love the cranberry song. It's a great song. It's a great one.

Come on. It's your damn head. Yeah. It really kicks in into that chorus and she's like, zomb.

Zomb. Oh my god. Yeah. We're a couple of fucking geniuses came up with that.

We're a couple of O'Reardens over here. But I like R.I.P. R.I.P. to a real one.

To a R.I.P. to a R.I.P. to a R.I.P. I like the 28.

I think 28 weeks later, I prefer, but I haven't seen either of them in a really long time. Do they fly now in that one? Is that the escalation? Like...

They fly now. Oh my god. I don't want to talk about that. We're going to do it eventually.

Eventually we will also fly now. That series I can tell you right now is called, They Pod Now? Yeah, it is. The 28 years later movies coming out, I believe this year it's coming out.

It's sort of like a boyhood project. I wish that was the fucking case. What's the before midnight, whatever that's called? Yeah, yeah, before sunrise, sunset.

It's like that. I wish that it was a boyhood situation where they were like, we've spent the last 28 years filming a young boy grow up in the zombie apocalypse in real time. The zombies are a little more mature, a little more world-weary. Yes, of course.

By the end of it, everybody is sort of like... maybe not friends, but we've come to a mutual respect for each other. There's like six months where nobody gets eaten because they're all on a diet. They're all on a fat diet.

Sure. Be a crash, that's the thing. Shauna of the Dead. Shauna of the Dead is another milestone, I think.

I think that movie still holds up. It's very good. Which means kilometers. Oh, they use miles over there, don't they?

Oh, no. No, I think they use kilometers. Do they? They're so obstinate.

All of their weird measurements, didn't we get them? All of our weird measurements, didn't we get them from them? No, I don't know. I thought we were like, no, we're doing it in our own way.

In England, miles or kilometers. You know, Kingdom uses miles for distance and speed limits. Oh shit. According to AI overview, which means they use kilometers.

According to AI. No, they use miles. All right. But yeah, that Shauna of the Dead, again, before the Walking Dead TV show, still like zombies are still novel.

Zombie movies are the... They are the domain of the nerd, the Chris Hardwick types of the world. Yeah. I'm being glib, but actually...

True. Yeah. And they're still good. Even that Zack Snyder remake of Dawn of the Dead, which Dawn of the Dead is like, that's another, like, as far as zombie movies.

It's a Romero. Romero zombie movies are, you know, the first three are amazing. They're the gold standard. The gold standard.

You can't touch them, really. And Dawn of the Dead is a lot of people's favorite of the series. So when he's remaking it, they're like, what are you doing? That's crazy.

And then it comes down to people like, actually, pretty good. Like, just different enough. And they like, kind of took out like some things from the original, but didn't, you know. And it's not fun.

Imagine a time when people didn't completely go insane every time Zack Snyder did something. Have you seen Rebel Moon, then? No, I haven't. You're never going to watch that, right?

Can I imagine, can I guess? Can you imagine me not watching it? Can I? Take a big swing here and say you'll never watch those movies.

It's crazy that I've seen... What was that movie? Zack Snyder. No, no.

What's the Canadian movie with the robot cops and the electricity powers we watched? Robot cops and electricity powers. Not... Just what?

It's not called... It's not called Section 8, but it's... Oh, oh, oh. Code 8 is going to go.

Code 8 is going to go. I've seen that. You've seen more times than I've seen Rebel Moon. And we'll always have seen that more times than I've seen Rebel Moon.

I only watched... So watch the first Rebel Moon movie. There's more than one movie of something called Rebel Moon. Alright.

Let me explain this to you, Dan. Alright. Sidebar. Zack Snyder...

Rebel Moon 2 colon. Sidebar. Yeah. Okay, yeah.

He initially... I think it starts out as we're going to let Zack Snyder direct a trilogy of Star Wars movies, right? And then that goes south. However, that happens.

And then Zack Snyder's like, well, I have all these kind of ideas or whatever for a Star Wars movie, a Star Wars-esque movie. So let me just do that. So he makes Rebel Moon, which comes out on Netflix and it's a two-parter, right? So it's Rebel Moon Part 1 and 2 and they come out I want to say six months apart and they're 13 and everybody who's watches them is like boring.

This sucks. No, thank you. And they're long as fuck. Both movies are like north of two and a half hours, right?

Jesus. So... Yeah, he does love doing that. He loves it.

He loves a long movie. And then... Oh, yeah. 134 minutes.

Yes. And then 204 minutes for chapter one colon chalice of blood. Okay. So now let's talk chalice of blood here.

Okay. God. Which I have not seen the chalice. But they...

When the first one, the very first movie comes out, Rebel Moon Part 1, PG-13 edition. He's like, stay tuned because there's rated R versions of both of these movies that are going to be coming out even later. So right now you get Part 1, PG-13. In six months you get Part 2, PG-13.

And then after that, at an undetermined date, I will be dropping the rated R versions of both of these movies. So this is... It will be approximately seven hours of a rated R space movie. This is happening post-release the Snyder Cut, right?

Oh, yeah. This is him trying to recapture, rebuttal the lightning of people being like, no. No, the same movie from you. Please.

Yes. And I got the Snyder Cut. People are good things to say about this. Kind of superior to the weeding cut.

But sorry. But that movie itself, that's another movie. It's four hours long. Yeah.

Fucking like Sergio Leone is once upon a time in America, is it four hours long? The Godfather keeps it tighter than that. But guys, you don't need four hours to tell us the reading. I'm going to say it more times than I've seen the Godfather part two.

I really got to say that and watch that thing. Oh, man. Maybe we do a copa-less thing where we do the Godfather and Megalophiles. Yes.

Name of that series or copa-lo run it over. No. I'm like, no. I'm gonna be better.

Okay. So you haven't seen part two of the PG-13 or... I haven't seen part two of the PG-13 or... And I have not watched the rated R versions.

You haven't drank from the chalice. No, no. I have not... Yeah.

I have not stepped. Well, I'm looking at the cast list for Rebel Moon. Sure. And I'd like to share something pretty shocking I found out here.

Anthony Hopkins as the voice of Jimmy. Oh, Jimmy the robot? Jimmy the robot. Yeah.

That's weird. It is weird. Let him rest. He's quite old.

Yeah. But his house they just burned down. So the men. Oh, they're really?

Yeah. I'm thinking sure it's covering them. I would like to also note that according to the Wikipedia page for Rebel Moon, the movies are, quote, inspired by the works of Akira Kurosawa, which I think just means they're very long. And boy, just kidding.

Now, there is like a, there's definitely a seven samurai. Like, the thing is though, if you've seen seven samurai, if you've seen Star Wars, if you've seen other like sort of big monumental sort of movies like this, the kind of movies that people are always talking about, if you've seen these movies and you watch Rebel Moon, you're like, that's from seven samurai. That's from Star Wars. This is from Blade Runner.

Whatever. Like down the line. It's just like, you're just like sort of plucking out your favorite things from these movies and like sprinkling them throughout. Which can work, but I don't think it does.

It doesn't matter. We're not here talking about Rebel Moon. I'm not too long, but. The mention of Star Wars and all the Zack Snyder stuff.

I have an idea for a series again. Is it just about the worst people? No, no. Oh, yes, but audiences.

Yeah. I want to do movies. No one's normal about. Yes.

Yes. That's great. I like it. Movies no one can be normal about.

I'm writing it down. Movies no one's normal about. Okay. But yeah, we're not here to talk about Rebel Moon.

Of course. We're here to talk about 2002's Resident Evil. Same first two letters as Rebel Moon, but things to take a turn after that. All right.

What am I watching? Let me read this. I pulled the DVD case out a little further. I don't remember Milachova, bitch being Rebel Moon.

Ooh, la la. So Resident Evil 2002 directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. Now he has the W.S.

Anderson. The Wesley Snipes Anderson. Paul World Series Anderson. It's fun to imagine what those letters might stand for.

Yeah, I will. I'll never know. I will continue. I will continue to imagine.

Paul W.S. Anderson, we've already checked in with twice in this thing. Once. Just with Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat. He's a real feature that he directed and then we've bailed. Yes. He's a, let's say, purveyor of Shlock.

He's a shlock, Meister. But more importantly, he's a wife guy. He's married to Milachova, bitch, who he meets making this movie. Yes.

And he says, you will be my bride. And you will be the star of all my Resident Evil movies. Listen, sweetheart, if you want to keep making these Resident Evil movies, you're going to have to be my wife. I think the funniest thing about this movie.

So okay, well, I got to ask, you probably grew up playing the Resident Evil games, right? I definitely played like the first couple of Resident Evil games. Yeah. They are, let's start by saying nothing like this.

They're like survival games. You start off with nothing, right? Yeah, yeah. If I remember correctly, it's been a long time, but yeah, you start off with nothing depending on like a certain character, but yeah, it's a lot of survival stuff.

It is very like, find this key to unlock this thing. A lot of reading diaries. Lot? Yes.

And then I mean, one of the things- But listen, you're going to shoot a dog. Yeah, you're going to shoot a dog or two, right? It's a scary video game. It's definitely the first instance that I, for me, of like a video game actually being scary.

Totally. I never went anywhere near those games. Totally. I'm too fucking scared.

I don't blame you. I get scared the fucking pants off of me. And then much later in life, I may have mentioned this. I played the VR Resident Evil game.

Oh shit, that's got to be even worse. Rob, when I tell you I put the headset on and I didn't move the whole time. I was like, I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that.

I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that. For like five minutes, everyone's like, just go. Just go.

Just walk. Just go. You're like, no thank you. No.

Why would I? I'm safe here. Yeah, yeah. Too scary.

Yeah. So this, I mean, the tone of the movie, you've heard it in the music. It is not a sort of slow burn survival game. It's like special ops.

It's laser grids that cut you into cubes. Yep. By the way, they really knew what they were doing there. Oh my God.

Yeah. So the character of Alice played by Mio Jovovich are hero heroine, some would say. Sure. I don't see that kind of thing.

I just call everyone here, regardless. Not a character in the games. Any of them. Alice is not a character in any, does she not pop up in any of the future games after this?

No. Really? No. No.

I checked on this. But that's so funny. It's so funny. And like the reason I was so surprised is because like through, like her outfit is so contrived that I was like, oh, this must be like how the character is styled in the game or something.

Sure. Right. She's wearing like a tiny little like sleepy dress, like a little red dress and then like combat boots. I was like, oh, that's, yeah, that's like how like video game.

It's such a video game outfit. Yeah. Yeah. And dying her hair that like incredibly or not dying, I'm sure it's a wig.

But you know, like the. You're on natural sort of color. Yeah. It's like it's brown, but also like kind of orangey red.

Yes. Yeah. So I was looking into like, is she in the games or whatever? She's not.

And I found the reason why on Reddit. Oh, well, please did you tell? So someone asks why hasn't Alice been in any of the games and user Captain Kate? This is from four years ago says because she's an overpowered arrogant Mary Sue that only had the characters from the game's tag along in the movies to be your cheerleaders and kill them off when it no longer benefited her.

So that's why. Which is kind of interesting. I thought it was, I thought it was maybe like a rights issue like between the studio and the game developers or right. It's because she turns out to overpower.

Very soon. The more you know, right? The internet was a good idea. Yeah.

Can you imagine anyway, if you're that person, you listen to the show because you wanted to hear if we'd organically arrive at the conclusion that she's no overpowered arrogant Mary Sue, bad news. You tip the scales, you put your thumb down hard. Yeah. Wow.

Yeah, that is that is interesting that she's not in the games. Any of the games after this, that's crazy because there are what six sequels, let's say. There are five sequels and then a reboot. The only and Paul West Anderson wrote all of them except the reboot.

So don't see the reboot. I guess it's really what I'm saying. So I mean, Dan, I got to tell you too late. I already saw it.

Right. I watched it when it came out. It's fine. I think I'm going to say right now, I think this movie, Resident Evil 2002.

2002. 2002. Fine. I think it's like, for what it is, I'm actually like, I watch it and I'm like, I kind of wish they made more of these movies now.

Like kind of sloppy. Oh, now. No, no, no, they did. They did.

No, no, no, no. These. Oh, god. Yeah.

Some sort of fucking monkey paw situation. No, they want some. Make it all movies are now Resident Evil movies. Oh, god.

No. I guess that they made like a like middle of the road sort of like, you know, this is like a horror action dumb movie. This is like, this is a three, you know, it just is like a just a three star movie. That's a box.com slash.

Yeah. Oh, I just think it's like middle of the road. There's nothing like spectacular about it. But it's like a fun time.

You're like, well, that wasn't like, it wasn't a complete waste of time. There's some fun stuff in there, you know? I think that there is some fun stuff in this movie. I would agree.

Again, the laser grid. Very funny. Laser grid's great. Laser grid's really good.

The laser grid is great because they're like, we have too many. Guys right now, we have to eliminate at least like in half of them right now. What do we do? You know what?

Get killing off the guy who's like the most competent guy in the room. Oh, that's always the best. That's a master stroke. Yes.

That's a master stroke. Paul M. S Anderson. Master stroke Anderson multiple sclerosis and no, really hope not.

No, that's always a good move. I was thinking recently, I had that thought like this more movie should do similar. I guess it is similar to that, but it's like there's always like the character that is like, I do not belong in this situation, right? Oh, yes.

This is the nervous guy or whatever. Like I am way outside of my wheelhouse right now. And then there's like the guy who knows what's happening and is like, listen, stick with me. You'll be fine.

Everything will be fine. And then that guy, the confident knows what's going on guy dies immediately, right? Is immediately taken out. And now you're your guys just left with whoever is left over who doesn't really want to tag in the long or whatever.

All of a sudden we're ragtag. Now we're, what is this? How would you describe our crew right here? Maybe ragtag?

But yeah, having the most confident guy be cubed. And not that there's three of them, wouldn't that be relief? Yeah. But yeah, he's a medium dice.

Yeah, he's a medium dice. That's the kind of stuff that they put on your omelet at the Waffle House. So the movie. Even flesh.

Yeah. For us. She's like, I'm going to show you a little bit as Alice. Milla Joe Vich at this point in her career, right?

She's like, she's an actress. She's like popping up. She's not the lead in anything. I don't think right.

Like she's, she was in days and confused almost 10 years earlier. Yeah. Like fifth element is the biggest thing. Fifth element where she is Lee Lou Dallas multipass.

But. Lee Lou Dallas multipass? Oh, Dan, have you not seen the fifth element? Not really.

Oh boy. As a man of science, I concerned myself with just the four thing very much. Well, maybe that's our double feature this week. We do a joke.

Oh, well, I'd rather watch Zoolander. Is she in that also? She plays Katinka. That's right.

Yeah. Will Ferrell's like assistant or whatever. Like weird. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. You know, on the other hand, I like it as much as I did when I was 10 years old. It's Zoolander?

Yeah. I don't know if I can risk that. Yeah. I mean, that's that kind of disappointment.

It hits hard. No, the fifth element, I think, is a lot of fun if, you know, it's definitely up its time, you know, and it is the thing that we've talked about born sexy yesterday. You want to know something funny about her filmography? Yes.

Okay. So in 1998, she starts in the fifth element. Yep. You with me so far?

So far, so good. 11 years later in 2009, she starts in the fourth kind. Oh, I know. And then a couple of years after that, she's in the three musketeers.

Oh my God. What are we counting down to? What's going to happen? Fuck.

What happens when we get to one? I don't know. Oh, and then in 2016, she's in Zoolander 2. Oh, God.

All right. I'm starting to really freak myself out now. All right. Well, I think Dan is heading to Reddit immediately after this.

Oh boy. The fifth element, a lot of fun stuff though. But it is Lupuson and Lupuson is a, he's one of those creepy kind of guys. He's one of those guys.

He's a wife for Chris Tucker's good name to be, you know, impugned by affiliation with a kind of guy. Yeah. Probably nobody else in his. Whoa.

Yeah. Lupuson married this woman who he had known since she was like 14. I want to say. And to you at the time would have been also 14 old as hell.

Yes. He made the professional that movie with John Renau and Natalie. Excuse me, an idea. Yeah.

That is where the idea came from essentially. Right. Yeah. It's all a little too French for me.

I was going to say the Resident Evil movie 2002, 2002. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah.

The year of the Irish. Who else is in this? Nobody. Literally nobody else whose name I recognize.

Oh, Michelle Rodriguez. Yeah. Michelle Rodriguez. Every time, you know, she's playing, she's doing her thing where every time someone talks to her, she says something like, she would get out of here.

I'm kicking your ass or whatever. Yeah. Sure. Yeah.

I'm getting later. Just like, yeah. I mean, she literally says she in the beginning, she pulls off her mask or helmet or whatever and she's like, she tells somebody she's like, below me. Oh, yeah.

She does say below me. That's the first thing out of her mouth. I mean, she is sort of the darling of the, quote, the IDB quotes page. Yes.
