Resident Evil (2026)

This film was written, produced and directed by Zach Cregger and is based on the video game series and is the 8th film in the franchise. The film stars Austin Abrams and that’s pretty much it. Other actors including Paul Walter Hauser & Zach Cherry are in the film but their screen time is less than 5 minutes in a 95 minute film. In this film, a medical courier is giving a last minute delivery of a top secret package to a remote laboratory in Raccoon City but as he approaches the city he soon realizes something is very wrong with everything and everyone there. After the “Resident Evil” Netflix series failed and was cancelled in 2022, Constantin Films was looking to revive the franchise with a new film and Zach Cregger was announced to be writing and directing a new film in 2025. The film hit theaters on September 18th, 2026 and was the first film in the franchise to receive an IMAX presentation.
