Resident Evil Review: A Masterful Adaptation at Fantastic Fest 2026

This review praises the 2026 Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger as a high-quality adaptation that prioritizes tone and atmosphere over a literal recreation of game events. Starring Austin Abrams, the movie follows a courier named Bryan who becomes entangled in a biological nightmare during a winter storm. The critic highlights how the production effectively merges intense horror with situational comedy, creating a cinematic experience that feels spiritually faithful to the original PlayStation games.
