Three years ago, the Taliban returned to power in Kabul after America’s disastrous abandonment of Afghanistan. Since then, the situation in the country has deteriorated considerably. Afghanistan faces an acute humanitarian crisis and has once again become a haven for transnational terror groups, especially al-Qaeda.
