In this week’s show our guest is Leticia Manzano from the Houston Area Women’s Center (HAWC). Ms. Manzano is the Sexual Assault Services Coordinator at HAWC. During this episode we discuss current affairs, such as the accusations against Harvey Weinstein and Donald Trump, the definitions of rape and sexual assault, and how the media can serve as a resource for survivors. We also explore how it is often challenging for those who have experienced sexual violence to share their story and how victim-blaming shifts responsibility away from the perpetrators.
