Respect in Islam

Respect in Islam Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Friday 10th March 2017 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK) Video: https://youtu.be/hJ9sUdSPotQ Respect is an integral part of Islam; from respecting the symbols of Allah and his Messenger ﷺ to respecting those who carry knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah. A person should not view showing respect as reducing their honour, rather it is a means of raising themselves in the eyes of Allah. We have been commanded to respect our parents in Islam even during the difficulty of them in old age. This talk goes on to mention how ‘ilm cannot be attained without respect and that respect should be shown to a person’s teachers and elders. Examples are given of the scholars of the past respecting their teachers and how showing that respect elevated their position in this dunya. Below are some of the timecodes and topics for this talk: - What does the word 'haram' mean? - Harun ar-Rashid sending his son to study - The arbitration of Sa'd ibn Muadh - Warning those who speak while hadith is being narrated - Respecting the mushaf of the Quran and elders in Islam - Respecting ones parents - Knowledge cannot be gained without respect - Respecting one another in marriage - The respect of students to teachers - How Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal would study hadith ********************************************************************** Website: www.akacademy.org YouTube: www.youtube.com/alkawtharacademy Facebook: www.facebook.com/alkawtharacademy Twitter: www.twitter.com/alkawthar Instagram - www.instagram.com/alkawtharacademy **********************************************************************
