Rest in Humility - Greatest is the Weakest
from Victoria Point Baptist Church · host VPBC
"Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever]."Matthew 5:3 AMP Mark 9:34-35 AMP The poor in spirit is a picture of a Blind street begger, on his knees, holding his money collection tin in both hands, crying out in desperation to those that walk past.. 'please, I have nothing'. Jesus, in the greatest sermon ever preached, reveals to us the attitude of one who is impacted by the good news of the kingdom. We are spiritually bankrupt, and in great need of the grace of God every single moment. Many stories Jesus told and much wisdom the apostles imparted was about the truth that those that recognise the great need for God's grace in every moment and in every area of life take hold of a kingdom that is for such people. In this world, degrees, doctorates and dollars are the thinks that qualify us and prove our success, but in the upside down kingdom, our success is only because of what Christ accomplished for us, and we are qualified by the grace of God alone.
