Restful Yoga Nidra
from Awakening The Mystic Within Hosted by Julia Anastasiou
When the Body Asks for Rest A Traditional Yoga Nidra for Deep Restoration There are times when the body is tired, yet something within us remains alert. The mind continues to move. The muscles hold the residue of the day. We lie down, longing for sleep, while the nervous system struggles to soften its vigilance. This episode offers a traditional Yoga Nidra created to support deep rest, restoration and inner settling. Yoga Nidra is sometimes translated as yogic sleep. It guides us towards the threshold between waking and sleeping, allowing the physical body to rest while a slender thread of awareness remains present. During this practice, Julia will guide you through the traditional stages of: Preparation and internalisation Sankalpa, the heartfelt resolve Rotation of consciousness through the body Breath awareness Opposite sensations Chidakasha, the inner space Visualisation Repetition of the sankalpa Externalisation and gradual return You can receive this Yoga Nidra during the day when you need restoration, or listen in bed and allow the practice to accompany you towards sleep. There is nothing to achieve. Find a comfortable place to lie down, let your body be supported and follow the sound of Julia’s voice. Safety Please do not listen while driving, travelling, operating machinery or doing anything requiring your full attention. This recording is offered for relaxation, meditation and personal wellbeing. You are welcome to change position, keep your eyes open, pause or end the practice at any time. It is a complementary practice and does not replace medical care, psychological therapy or personalised health advice. If sleep difficulties are persistent or affecting your daily life, please consult an appropriate healthcare professional.
