"Restore the Joy of Salvation"

June 15, 2025 Daily Devotion: "Restore the Joy of Salvation" Psalm 51:12 New Living Translation 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you Have you ever felt as if your joy tank was just about empty? What did you do to try to refill it? We may try any number of things to restore our own joy. We may plan a night out withfriends or a weekend away by ourselves. Perhaps we turn to a hobby that has brought us pleasure in the past. Here's the problem: only God can restore the kind of joy our souls need. David knew what to do when his joy was beginning to wane. He simply made his request to the One who is able to fulfill our need for joy. James may have been referring to wisdom when he said to ask “God, who gives generously” (James 1:5), but God's generosity has no limits. If there is a need for joy in our lives, let's ask Him for it. Fill me with Your joy, Lord. There is nothing else that cheers my heart like the joy of Your salvation.
