Restoring the haunted house on the hill

Former Channel 7 camerawoman Mel McPherson has restored a 125-year-old abandoned house known as the local haunted house on the hill near Mullumbimby in the Byron region. The property, unoccupied since the 1970s, was plagued with asbestos, lead paint, waterfalls in the hallway, and live termite nests, but featured rare Australian hardwoods like teak and ironbark.
