Restoring the San Antonio River’s aquatic ecosystem

from KLRN · host KLRN - PBS in San Antonio

This week On The Record with Randy Beamer, we talk with Derek Boese, General Manager of the San Antonio River Authority about the Aquatic EcoSystem Restoration Project along the San Antonio River.  What the plan will entail, and how it will affect Brackenridge Park. Next, San Antonio’s Chief Sustainability Officer Doug Melnick talks to Randy about the Cool Neighborhood Pilot Program, which should help lower summer temperatures in parts of the city that are becoming increasingly hot.  On Reporter’s Roundtable, Ramzi Ghalioum with the San Antonio Business Journal discusses the controversy over hundreds of acres of land around the Toyota Plant on the southside, where the city is trying to get zoning commissioners to approve new zoning overlays that would block residential properties from being developed in those areas. On The Record airs 7 p.m. Thursdays. Watch on-air (channel 9.1) or stream online at klrn.org/live or on our Facebook page.  Watch all past episodes by visiting https://video.klrn.org/show/klrn-on-the-record/ Generous support for On The Record on KLRN is provided by Steve and Adele Dufilho.
