The one who believes in me will live, even though they die John 11:25 niv The literal resurrection of Jesus is one of the most disputed claims of his life & ministry - as quite literally, the entire Christian faith hinges on its reality. Disprove the resurrection of Jesus and you the whole things falls apart. The apostle Paul says exactly that in his 1st letter to the Corinthian church... ( '... if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.' I Cor 15:17) Despite the wonder & power of the resurrection - it is all too common for Christians to emphasize the cross alone - somehow disconnecting it from the resurrection. Yet that's not what we see in recorded biblical sermons - where the 2 always went together. The good news & glory of the empty cross & empty tomb should be the highlight of every sermon, every lesson, every song & every gathering of our community. In this sermon, we'll look at Jesus' resurrection through the lens of Luke and highlight what he emphasized. In particular, the radical faith & reckless folly of the major characters who witnessed the crucifixion. May the resurrection of Christ empower us - renew us - regenerate us - justify us - changing everything.
