Retaining Employers in 2023, US Speaker of the House Deadlock, and Violence in Mexico

from The Morning Brew with Andrew Schultz · host Corus Radio

What’s ahead for Canada’s job market in 2023? Following a ‘wild’ year in 2022 with record low unemployment and at the same time labour shortages in many sectors, we get some insight as to what employers can do to successfully attract and retain employees. We speak with Career Placement Specialist, Dr. Candy Ho. This week marks the second-year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection on Capitol Hill. We head stateside to discuss the milestone with Jackson Proskow, Global News Washington Bureau Chief. Finally, violence has erupted in the streets of several tourist-heavy regions of Northwest Mexico, following the arrest of Drug Cartel Chief Ovidio Guzman. Many travelers have been told to ‘shelter in place’ at their resorts and flights have been disrupted to-and-from the Mazatlan airport. We get reaction from Eileen Head, a Calgarian currently in the region on holiday.
