Rethinking Zapotec Time: An interview with Dr. David Tavárez

For this month's episode I interviewed Professor David Tavárez about his award-winning book Rethinking Zapotec Time: Cosmology, Ritual, and Resistance in Colonial Mexico. This study presents the first full translation and analysis of a series of Zapotec divinatory calendars that were confiscated by colonial authorities at the beginning of the 18th century.
