Retooling The Eagles (PST Show #360)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

Now that the 2020 NFL and Eagles Draft is complete, we are beginning to see how the Birds' are retooling their team for the future. This week, Mark Schofield, cohost of The QB Factory on the BGN Radio podcast and writer at USA Today's Touchdown Wire, joined us to talk about the aftermath of the Eagles Draft and the vision of the front office's retooling strategy. But first, we gave our thoughts on the NFL Draft overall. (approx. 3:10)We then transitioned into some listener feedback where we discussed old memories of Veterans Stadium and sports radio personalities. (approx. 14:05)Then we discussed a possible return for hockey this season as campas may begin June 1st. (approx. 24:40)We also talked about the optimism amongst MLB executives that baseball may return as well. (31:30)This week on the Highbrow Segment, we gave our review, analysis and thoughts of "The Last Dance", an awesome documentary about the Chicago Bulls. (approx. 36:30)On the Lowbrow Segment, we've got a new list that covered our most hated athletes and teams growing up who we've come to respect and like later in life. (approx. 55:20)What we're throwing down on the Table this week is a lengthy and in-depth discussion with college and NFL scout Mark Schofield about how the Eagles are retooling their team for the future. Of course, we dove into the Jalen Hurts quarterback pick in the second-round and how his presence may create more opportunities for Philly in the future. The wide receiver corps is slated to see major changes with Jalen Reagor, Marquise Goodwin, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins - what that translates to is speed down the field. Will rookie K'Von Wallace be a key part of the defense this coming season? Why did the Eagles not address the defensive line in the draft? All of this and much more this week on the Table. (approx. 1:22:45)Email us at [email protected] to let us know your thoughts about anything and everything Philly sports. We'll read your email on the show and respond.
