A L O H A. A Hawai'ian word with which most of us are familiar. It is most commonly understood to mean "hello," "goodbye" and "love." Actually, this simple word has a multitude of meanings, and the Aloha Spirit is infused with even deeper meaning and represents qualities that we could all embrace to experience more kindness, inner peace and harmony in our world. Rev. Helen Downey completed her ministerial studies in her native Southern California. She became pastor of the Maui Religious Science Center where she enjoyed and embraced the Hawai'ian culture and tradition: the heartfelt Spirit of Aloha which she experienced as a purposeful expression of universal love, respect and harmony . . . a natural sync with metaphysical concepts.
