Revelation 16:8-16

from Armageddon on SermonAudio Hosted by Dr. R.C. Smelcer

Revelation 16:8–16 shows us the final stages of God's judgment as He dismantles everything man has trusted apart from Him. The fourth vial is poured out on the sun, and instead of giving life, it scorches men with intense heat. What once sustained life now becomes a source of suffering. But instead of repenting, men blaspheme God, even while admitting He has power over these plagues. That reveals the true condition of the human heart—hard, resistant, and unwilling to bow. Then the fifth vial strikes the very throne of the Beast. His kingdom is plunged into darkness, and the system that once promised control, security, and provision begins to collapse. Pain increases, confusion spreads, and the world's strongest government is shown to be powerless when God touches it. Yet even then, men refuse to repent. The problem is not the system—it is the heart. Next, the sixth vial is poured out on the Euphrates River, and it dries up to prepare the way for the kings of the east. At the same time, three unclean spirits like frogs go out from the dragon, the Beast, and the false prophet. These are demonic spirits working deception, influencing world leaders, and gathering them together for the final battle. The world thinks it is making its own decisions, but it is being spiritually directed toward judgment. All of this leads to Armageddon, where the nations are gathered for the battle of that great day of God Almighty. History has seen countless battles in that region, but this will be the final one. The world will come together thinking it is preparing for victory, but in reality, it is being gathered by God for judgment.
