That’s the uncomfortable warning at the center of Revelation 2:12–17, where Jesus speaks to the church in Pergamum, a city known for wealth, learning, religion, and a heavy mix of pagan worship and emperor worship. We walk through why Pergamum is described as the place “where Satan dwells,” and why that matters for anyone trying to follow Christ in a culture that celebrates anything except the truth of God’s Word. Jesus commends real faithfulness, even after the martyrdom of Antipas, then confronts what the church is allowing inside its own walls: false teaching that pushes believers toward idolatry, sexual immorality, and moral accommodation.
