The Lukewarm Church of Laodicea — And Why It Describes Us Today | Faith By Reason

https://youtu.be/fRD_vqu2nE4 Laodicea is the Lukewarm Church. These cowardly Christians were so afraid of long their status, prosperity, and comfort, that they refused to take a stand on anything! They would neither passionately embrace Jesus, or definitively reject Him. They refused to make any choice at all! They figured that as long as they didn’t move in one direction or the other, they could remain safe from both the condemnation of the World and the judgment of God. But they were wrong! In His letter to this Church, Jesus blatantly said that He would rather they be evil than Lukewarm! Why? Because when you choose a moral direction, God can interact with you! If you choose righteousness, He can encourage and bless you. If you choose evil, He can admonish and correct you. But if you don’t choose ANYTHING, then there is no way for Him to interact with you. You are worthless to Him! In fact, Jesus says that these Christians make him want to vomit! Worst of all is that prophetically speaking, this Laodicean Church represents the age in which we are currently living! Out Postmodern Church is the Laodicean Church. Our dominant “theology” is the idea of being a “loving” (not true Biblical love, but emotional, subjective, human love), inoffensive, non-confrontational, non-judgmental, saccharine sweet, universally tolerant, superficially Biblical, Christian Country Club.
