What this episode covers
Recently published in NEJM (New England Journal of Medicine) is an article about antisense oligonucleotides. It's a new drug that reduces Lp(a) or lipoprotein (a) by up to 80%. This is more promising than current treatments, including niacin, L-carnitine, and apheresis. Still, the new antisense drug appears to be not yet ready for primetime.
