Review: Cigarettes And Coffee

from Roll The Credits · host Frank DiSalvo and Zach Johnson

In a long forgotten episode of The Start, we travel down memory lane in one of the first things that Paul Thomas Anderson ever put out. When Douglas tells a story to his friend Sydney we find out how five people are connected by a $20 bill in a very bad way. Even from an early age you could see just how good he was with writing dialogue and editing to create a compelling story. While this may not have aged well being on tape making it very fuzzy to watch, there is a certain charm about it. However, with it free on Youtube anyone can watch and thats an easy way to check out the early work of one of the best because you can "see how the money is gone, never to be seen again".
