REVIEW: Culture Shock feat Bryn Christopher - City Lights

from Smoke Radio · host Smoke Radio

Culture Shock (no not the 80s punk band) released ‘City Lights’ a week ago - an up-tempo electro pop taste of his debut album dropping in May. A couple years ago it was indie music that got everyone up and dancing for the summertime, but now that EDM and drum and bass are taking the reins I wouldn’t be surprised if when everyone is trying to catch a tidal wave, ‘City Lights’ will be cruising the radio waves. It definitely fits the criteria for an early summer hit— repetition of a word or phrase (“free-falling”, in this case), classic but catchy DnB beat, infectious chorus, relatively satisfying beat-drop— but for now we will just have to wait and see how it springs. ‘City Lights’ is out now, and there’s also a great instrumental version making its way ‘round the interwebs.
