Review: The Outfit
from Roll The Credits · host Frank DiSalvo and Zach Johnson
Learning a trade is something of a dying breed nowadays, but outsmarting mobsters seems to be alive and well in films. A simple man wanting only to be left alone we follow the story of Leonard, a cutter, who becomes caught in the mix of Chicago mob members murders and the notion that they have a "rat". A film that pays its dues to classic horror, gangster and noir films while adding in some of its own little flairs help to make this film feel nostalgic and new at the same time. This is not a film that is trying to go over the top, define a genre, or be the next wave but it does give you something fun and if that doesn't always work "you lay out your tools, and you start again".
