Review: The Pale Blue Eye

from Roll The Credits · host Frank DiSalvo and Zach Johnson

When it comes to sacrifices and immortality, the main ingredient you always seem to need is a human heart. In the 1800's a detective Landor is called to a military school to solve a murder, this quickly leads to an abundance of murders and gaining the help of Edgar Allen Poe seems to help this. A film that if cut down by 20 minutes would be just another noir-esque film, however, like all good murder mysteries those last few minutes give you the AHA moment you need. While it may not be the best thing to come out in recent years it is interesting and a stellar performance from Henry Melling helps this out. It may not be the biggest draw from Netflix but it is a fun one to check because "man will do almost anything to cheat death" including streaming.
