Could it be that David Crockett was fighting against the Spanish Inquisition when he died at the Battle of the Alamo? Could the Texas Revolution have been a war against the long arm of the Inquisition? That may not be as strange as it sounds, considering the impact of the Inquisition in scattering the Jews of Spain to the New World and pursuing them to the furthest reaches of the Spanish Empire.
