Revitalizing Downtown: Butch Spyridon’s Vision for the River Center

Renowned city planner Butch Spyridon is consulting on the major redevelopment of the Raising Cane's River Center to revitalise downtown Baton Rouge. By aligning local leadership and establishing clear project priorities, the initiative seeks to turn long-delayed proposals into concrete progress. Proposed plans include replacing the current arena with a 350- to 400-room flagship hotel and expanding exhibit spaces while preserving unobstructed access to the Mississippi Riverfront. With interim management selection underway, initial site activity and developer recruitment are projected to begin within two to three years.
