Reviving Conscience

Pastor Hugh explores the God-given gift of conscience through the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis 42–44. It examines how conscience, illuminated by the Holy Spirit, serves as an inner witness to truth and conviction, and what happens when it is ignored, defiled, or silenced by sin. Through the experiences of Joseph’s brothers, we see how God lovingly awakens hardened hearts through three powerful means: barrenness, pain, and testing. Far from being signs of abandonment, these pressures are instruments of divine mercy, used by the Holy Spirit to expose hidden sin, revive spiritual awareness, and lead people toward repentance, restoration, and renewed obedience. This message offers encouragement to those praying for wayward loved ones and challenges every listener to respond to the Spirit’s call to come home to God with a softened and surrendered heart.
