France-Luce Benson is a playwright, television writer and performer. Her plays have been produced and developed at Ensemble Studio Theatre NY, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Crossroads Theatre, Atlantic Theatre Company, The Billy Holiday Theatre, the New Black Fest, Juggernaut Theatre, City Theatre Miami, Fountain Theatre, Global Voices Theatre in London, and at the Afropea Festival in Marseilles, France. Honors include the Lily’s Lorraine Hansberry Award, Son Pictures Television Fellow, New York State Council on the Arts’ Individual Artist Award, Dramatists Guild Fellow, Sam French OOB Festival Winner, and Zoetrope’s Grand Prize for Best Original screenplay. Her plays The Talk, Showtime Blues, Her work has been published by DPS, Samuel French, and Routledge. She was a staff writer on the TV series Bass Reeves and is currently an Assistant Professor of Theatre at CSU San Marcos.
