Rewired For a Purpose Part 1

from Alex Martinez Daily Chop · host Alex Martinez / Daily Chop

In this episode, we sit down for a real, honest, and deep conversation with Shelly Hansen and Natalie Martinez about something that so many people experience but rarely understand, what happens when we live, lead, and serve out of survival mode.So often in ministry, leadership, relationships, and everyday life, we do not realize that we are operating out of one of the Four F’s, fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. These patterns are not personality flaws, they are nervous system responses formed through stress, trauma, fear, and past experiences. And when we lead, love, and serve from these places, it can quietly drain us, confuse us, and even cause burnout while we are trying to help others. We talk openly about what it looks like when people in ministry are still functioning from their Four F’s. How fight can turn into defensiveness and control. How flight can look like avoidance, isolation, or staying constantly busy to escape what we feel. How freeze can leave us stuck, numb, or unable to move forward. And how fawn can show up as people pleasing, losing boundaries, and abandoning our own needs just to keep the peace or keep people close.
