The first of the regional FMG Young Farmer of the Year comps took place over the weekend, we're joined by the winner, Mac Williams who took out the win for the Taranaki Manawatu regional finals. Efforts to market three novel dragon fruit varieties might offer possibilities for farmers in the Far North. Collaborating with the Southern Horticultural Research Institute in Vietnam, scientists from Plant & Food Research have been involved in a cooperative breeding program for the past decade, resulting in the creation of these fresh varieties.
